A pollinator favorite that deer tend to ignore. The best of both worlds! The blooming season can be increased by deadheading the flowers immediately after they bloom. Seeds are scattered by feeding birds and their potential to germinate and grow should not be underestimated. This plant can rapidly develop into a large colony if conditions are right. Planting individual plants sometimes leads to flopping due to the tall nature of this species. Consider planting several in an area so they can lend support to each other and remain upright.

A very tall, yellow flowering perennial easily grown in average to poor soil as long as moisture is available. More moisture promotes robust growth. Plants grown in dryer soils are shorter and spindly while those in adequate moisture grow tall, fill out better and have more blooms. Flower blooms are concentrated near the top of the plant in more or less flat-topped clusters. An easily grown perennial.
