Another large Silphium! So named for the way the opposite arranged leaf bases wrap around the stem to form a cup-like structure which actually can hold rainwater. Leaves can get large, to 14″ so carefully situate other plants nearby so as not to shade them out. Yellow flowers are produced starting in mid-summer offering abundant pollen and nectar.
