Golden Alexanders are members of the carrot family (Apiaceae) and resembles common Queen Anne’s Lace which is also in the same family.  Bright yellow flowers are borne in late spring and into summer.  Given the long bloom time associated with this species it makes a welcome addition providing nectar and pollen for weeks in the garden or landscape.  Golden Alexanders are a known hostplant for Black Swallowtail caterpillars.  Fall color is an unusual purplish-pink color.
