A typical Antennaria in that the leaves are covered with silvery or whitish hairs and the flowers resemble a cat’s foot…thus the name.  The primary difference between this and other Antennaria species we grow is that parlinii flowers are held much higher and are larger.   Flower color is white to pink.  Parlin’s Pussytoes is named after an early 20th century Maine botanist, John Crawford Parlin who discovered them.  Parts of this plant are poisonous, so grazers and browsers tend to steer clear.  A terrific hostplant, however, for the American Painted Lady butterfly.
