A member of the sunflower family, Snakeroot is plant with a rich history in folk medicine having been used for everything from snakebite to reviving unconscious people.  Used as a tea, poultice or even inhaling the smoke from smoldering roots, it seems there was no end to the ways of getting snakeroot into a person.  Today, the toxic nature of snakeroot is better understood, and it should not be used for anything except enjoying the flowers and the many pollinators it attracts.
